Call recording

Also called: Recorded calls · Voice recording

Call recording is saving the audio of a phone or voice call so it can be played back later for quality checks, training, disputes or record keeping.

Laws on recording calls differ by country and sometimes by state. Some require only one party’s consent and others require everyone on the call to agree, so many businesses play a notice at the start of every call.

Recordings are personal data. Teams decide who may play them, how long they are kept and when they are deleted. A recording is also the starting point for call transcription and AI summaries.

How Risti does it

In Risti, owners and admins turn on Record calls in Settings › Apps › Call recording. Callers first hear a spoken notice, in up to 3 languages, and recordings are kept for the number of days you set. Safari can’t record calls.

Calls from Sipuni or OnlinePBX can bring their own recordings with Sync calls and recordings; they arrive a minute or two after the call. Calls on a connected phone line (SIP) are not recorded. MaryAI always tells callers that the call is recorded.
