Embedded Signup
Also called: WhatsApp Embedded Signup · Meta Embedded Signup
Embedded Signup is Meta’s sign-in flow that lets a business connect its WhatsApp Business account and phone number to a software provider from inside that provider’s product.
Without Embedded Signup, connecting the WhatsApp Business API means creating a system user in Meta’s business settings, copying IDs and generating a permanent token. Embedded Signup replaces those steps with a Facebook window where the business signs in, picks or creates its WhatsApp Business account and confirms the number.
The window is loaded from Facebook, so ad and tracker blockers often stop it. The person signing in must be an admin of the business’s WhatsApp Business account. Meta also supports coexistence: a number that stays in the WhatsApp Business app on a phone while it is connected to the API.
How Risti does it
On Risti’s WhatsApp page, choose I use the WhatsApp Business app on my phone (recommended: the number keeps working in the app, up to 6 months of chat history is imported and replies sync both ways) or New number / WhatsApp API only (chats live in Risti only). Then press Connect with Facebook, sign in with the Facebook account that manages the business and pick the number in Meta’s window.
Risti shows “Connecting your number…” and then “WhatsApp is connected.” History import can take a while. If the window doesn’t open, allow connect.facebook.net in your blocker; closing it early connects nothing. With the app kept on the phone, open it about every 14 days; group chats are not synced.
