Knowledge base

Also called: Help centre · Knowledge library · KB

A knowledge base is a collection of a business’s documents, answers and help articles, organised so that people or AI agents can find accurate information quickly.

Support teams use a knowledge base to answer the same question the same way every time. It may be public, like a help centre, or internal, holding policies, prices and procedures that only the team sees.

For AI agents, the knowledge base keeps answers grounded: the agent searches it and answers from what it finds, ideally with a cited answer. Outdated pages are the main risk, so sources need owners and regular checks.

How Risti does it

Risti’s knowledge base is the Library, in Settings › Knowledge. Add a source takes Upload files (PDF, Word, text or Markdown, up to 25 MB and 300 pages, with a safety scan) or Add website pages (“Just this page” or “This page and the pages it links to”; up to 50 pages per site and 200 in all; public pages, checked daily). Saved replies count too.

Sources sit in Folders, and Who can use it limits a source to “Everyone in ACME” or “Only these teams”. Filters show sources “Unused for 30 days” or “Paused”, and each source shows its usage with the lines that were cited. MaryAI answers from the Library, and API keys with the Manage knowledge scope can manage it too; see Library.
